The Copper Bowl

The Copper Bowl is located over the top of Copper Mountain, on the backside of the resort. The terrain here is generally all black diamonds with lots of cliffs, but the resort has also been nice enough to cut an intermediate trail into the bowl to allow more people to get back here.

Traversing the ridgeline from the top of the Mountain Chief or the Celebrity Ridge lifts will give you a choice of lines down into the bowl.

Otto Bahn is the lone intermediate trail through this bowl, and it is more like a traverse. It can be seen below while looking up the western portion of the bowl.

Tucker Mountain

Tucker Mountain is the southernmost area of the Copper Bowl and the ski resort. This used to only be accessible via snowcat, but a triple chairlift was added here in 2019, giving skiers and riders easy access to all of Tucker Mountain.

The Mountain Chief is one of two chairlifts that will get you out of the Copper Bowl and back to the front side.

Getting to the Copper Bowl

There are 3 options for accessing the Copper Bowl. The Rendezvous chairlift will bring you near the top of the Blackjack chairlift. If you take the Sierra lift, you will be brought to a much higher place within the bowl. A short hike is required to get from the top of the Sierra chairlift to the Copper Bowl. The Celebrity Ridge surface lift will bring you right to the highest point within the bowl.

The top of the Sierra and Celebrity Ridge lifts can be seen below, with a group of people making the hike to the bowl.
