Nearby Gunnison Lodging
Gunnison, CO is located about a 45-minute drive away from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Lodging in Gunnison will almost always be cheaper than the resort’s base area. You should be able to find a room for less than $100/night here. The more reputable hotel chains like the Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn will usually cost just above that price.

This is another easy addition to this list because it is a reliable hotel chain, and most travelers already know what to expect here. Staying here will be cheaper than the resort, but this will still be relatively expensive compared to most of the surrounding hotels in Gunnison.

The more luxurious lodging options are located at the base of the resort, while the cheaper, smaller inns tend to be in downtown Crested Butte. There are exceptions, like Eleven Scarp Ridge, a luxury inn that is located in the town of Crested Butte.
The Grand Lodge and the Elevation Hotel & Spa are great ski lodges for families. These both have great locations and great property amenities, including year-round pools.
Try the Old Town Inn or the Elk Mountain Lodge. These are both small lodging properties in town that will be cheaper than the luxury accommodations at the base of the resort. You can also stay in Durango to save money if you don’t mind the extra drive.
