Goldenwoods Condominiums
This is the closest condo building to the mountain, and the only place where you might find a rental available right at the base of the ski resort. If you can’t find any condos for rent at the Goldenwoods Condos, you can try to find a private rental in the nearby area, but there are very few homes in the area directly around this ski resort.
Wagon Wheel Bar, Restaurant, Motel
This property has a small bar and lounge in addition to the motel. The Wagon Wheel is located on HWY 65, to the north of Powderhorn approximately 8 miles away. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Grand Mesa Lodge
Located on Island Lake, approx. 14 miles to the south of the ski area. This is a great remote place to stay for recreation during the summer and winter seasons. There are cabins for rent here, plus a lodge suite and 2 RV lots that can also be rented.
Alexander Lake Lodge
This lodge is not far from the Grand Mesa Lodge, just to the south of Crag Crest on the Grand Mesa. This property is surrounded by lakes and reservoirs. The lodge consists of a series of cabins as well as a 6-room hotel.
Cedaredge, CO
Beyond the sporadic ranches, resorts and rental homes on the Grand Mesa, Cedaredge is the next closest town to the south of Powderhorn. This town is just below the southern edge of the Grand Mesa, approximately 45 minutes away from Powderhorn.

The Cedaredge Lodge

This is a small town in Mesa County, seated below the northern edge of the Grand Mesa at an altitude of approx. 6,000′. This town is just over 21 miles from the Powderhorn Mountain Resort.
Alpine Motel
You’ll find the Alpine Motel located approx. a 30-minute drive to the northeast of Powderhorn. This is a small 14-room motel that has great reviews and a great location year-round for anyone that is playing on the Grand Mesa.
Grand Junction & Palisade
Staying in Grand Junction can save you some cash, but you’ll have a drive of about 45 minutes to 1 hour ahead of you in order to get to the Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

This motel is about 35 minutes away from Powderhorn, and the property is highlighted by a unique and cool little bar.
Grand Vista Hotel
Located in an area where it is surrounded by the Econo Lodge, Ramada, La Quinta and other budget hotel chains, this hotel is just a few hundred yards off of I-70. Pets are allowed and there is a large pool and hot tub on the property here.
