Aspen Highlands Deals & Travel Info
Aspen Highlands is a respected mountain by advanced skiers and riders. It is capped by the Highland Bowl, which is overwhelming in size and scope. The bowl is easily visible from Aspen Mountain because it is located right next door. There is no beginner skiing here, so this skews the crowd and atmosphere in a certain direction that some people appreciate.

Highland Bowl

Aspen Highlands, CO FAQ
The parking garage at the base is a decent size and if you get here early you should be able to get a spot. If there is no parking here, you can park at the Buttermilk lot and take the free bus. You can also park in the Brush Creek lot, which is farther up Rt. 82.
These two are similar in many ways because there is no beginner terrain at either. Both have great terrain for intermediate and expert skiers, and they both have sporadic cliffs and double black diamond runs in different spots. Aspen will usually be a bit more crowded and this is where you will find all the nightlife.
Not usually. Head to Buttermilk or Snowmass if you are in the valley and want to ride some rails.
Yes! You can even do this in the same day using the free bus service in the valley. Tickets are valid at all 4 of the Aspen/Snowmass ski areas and the bus rides are only a few minutes long (with Snowmass to Aspen being the longest route).
Yes! You are not in Kansas anymore. Never enter closed terrain, especially the Highland Bowl.

Getting to Aspen Highlands
Access to Aspen Highlands is easy once you are in the valley. Head onto Maroon Creek Rd. from the main roundabout just outside of Aspen. Go past the school and you’ll see the main parking garage on your left at the base area. See also: Aspen Highlands Transportation Info.
Tips for Skiing & Riding at Aspen Highlands
Head to the top for the most difficult skiing. You will find expert skiing in short bursts throughout this mountain, but if you really want the good stuff, you should head to the Steeplechase area via the Loge Peak chairlift. You will get a good look at what you are in for on the way up because the lift travels right above the area where the slope drops off. You can also access the route to hike up into the Highland Bowl from the top of this lift.
