Brief Description
This undated black & white photo was taken sometime during the 1950s or 1960s at the top of Loveland Pass. This sign was located on the south side of US Highway 6, and it was erected by the US Forest Service sometime around 1956/’57.

Image Dating Comments
The photograph has no date markings on it, and right now it can only be historically dated to the general range when this sign was in place at the top of the pass. It was erected sometime around 1956 or 1957, and it was in place until the summer of 1965.

Comments & Discussion
The photograph has Kodak Velox markings on the back and “#015” written in pencil. The pencil markings were already on the back upon arrival into the archives.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The ribbed edging, which is known for being very fragile, has survived up until this point with very little damage to the most fragile parts of the pattern. The reflective coating on the front is in great shape with little or no scratching, no spidering or cracking.
