This photograph has the date of 1954 written on it. At some point, the date began to fade and it was traced over in an effort to preserve the date.

The stone marker and its plaque were added on Wolf Creek Pass in 1929. This marker is no longer here today. Take note of the road surface that is shown in this photo. This is consistent with a surface that had been paved using an oiling process during this era. Wolf Creek Pass was paved for the first time in 1950, and it was oiled and resurfaced again in 1958.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: Lots of yellowing due to aging can be seen around the border. There are 4 good corners visible to the naked eye. The backside has evidence that this photo was once mounted in a photo album.
