Comments & Discussion
While another slide from 1963 in this archive shows no signs of weathering on the sign, this one, illuminated brightly in the sun, shows that the sign does have some wear visible on it. This sign is similar to other signs that were added during this era on Loveland Pass, Wolf Creek Pass and elsewhere.
This slide was purchased alongside of CB-63H, and the two images were likely captured a few moments apart. There is evidence of a snow dusting visible in the background.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: This slide is in similar condition to CB-63H. Both slides have a fair amount of darkening due to aging on the backside, and some discoloration/bleeding on the front side that looks like it has probably always been there. The date stamp is fading, especially the “Oct” portion, but all of the date stamp is still clearly legible upon entry into the archives.
