Comments & Discussion
This image shows a 1962 Pikes Peak toll road ticket, Manitou & Pikes Peak Railway ticket, and business card for Great Western Tours. This documents the tour pretty well, showing you how the group got up and down the mountain, and who guided the tour.
The brochure below has a great map of the Pikes Peak region. This tour company offered 5 different trip options. It looks like this trip would have been from the Pikes Peak sunset trip, although it doesn’t look like they stayed at the top for sunset. The Glen Cove photo from the descent is evidence of this. Click the link to see the full size cropped version of the map.
There are 2 different sizes of photographs in this lot aside from the main Glen Cove group photo. They show different views of the highway and cog railroad. These photographs will all eventually be scanned and uploaded to this website.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: A small amount of aging can be seen on some items, but there is no mold or extensive damage on any of the items as of their arrival into the archives.
