This slide has a handwritten date label of June 1951 written in pen on the slide’s mount.

Comments & Discussion

This sign replaced the previous sign sometime around 1947 or 1948. It was repainted once, likely when the additional side panel was added sometime around 1950. The sign can be seen here starting to accumulate graffiti again.

A rope tow can be seen ascending from the Berthoud Pass Lodge in the background. The chairlift would have been located behind the cameraman, on the opposite side of the road from here.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: One corner has been clipped. The slide mount looks like it is darkening due to age. The red border on the backside shows only mild signs of fading.
