A significant amount of weathering can be seen on the Berthoud Pass sign in this photo. This sign was likely already here for a few years before this photograph was captured. A different sign was in place here during the late 1920s after the inn was built.
This is the same women that can be seen in this Milner Pass photograph from 1926.
In addition to the obvious signs that are seen here, the enlarged image below shows the placard offering a $25 reward for vandals.
This photograph came to the archives via an estate sale in Richmond, VA. There is one other known copy of this photograph which is believed to have originated from the same estate sale (that one has a pinhole in the upper left of the sky).
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The surface has retained its glossiness, and there are no major cracks, spidering, or marks on the front surface. There is significant fading of the developer stamp on the back. Rounding of the corners is imperfect.
