1985 Cottonwood Pass Continental Divide Sign Slide #CCO-85F25

Brief Description

This slide shows an old Continental Divide sign on top of Cottonwood Pass. A family can be seen in the distance at the top of the hill above the highway.

Info

This slide’s image has been scanned with basic cropping and color correction.

Image use restricted.

Image Dating Comments

This slide’s cardboard mount has a punch-stamped development date of “SEP85”. The lack of snow is consistent with the early fall season, so the image was likely captured sometime near September or just prior.

Comments & Discussion

This slide, just like CCO-83G11 has no brand markings other than “Color Transparency”. Both of these slides were purchased from the same seller. They were in separate lots that appear to have come from the same collection.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The ’25’ label is only partially visible. The punch stamp appears to have either been a weak stamp or has begun to lose its indentation due to aging. There are no other obvious signs of aging to the naked eye. The slide’s color appears to be holding up well as of its arrival into the archives.
