The slide has an ink-stamped development date of October 1974 on it. Handwritten in pen is “Independence Pass Aug 1974”.

Comments & Discussion

The green grass in this image stands in contrast against this one. They are nearly the same photo from the same era, but the color hues are completely different. This US Forest Service Continental Divide sign was added here by 1970. The photo was taken on the roadside, with Colorado Highway 82 passing directly behind the photographer.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is no browning or aging of the cardboard upon entry into the archive. There are 4 good corners. The red ink from the date stamp is slightly fading. The slide’s color is still luscious.
