Comments & Discussion

This sign was located on the southern side of US Highway 50. New signs were added on the other side of the road during the mid-1950s. Their location would eventually move back to the southern side. Take note of the direction of each ocean painted on these signs as you view different signs in this archive.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is one tear along the top edge upon entry into the archive. The delicate ribbed edging has seen some wear. There is browning of the white surface areas throughout the photograph’s edges on both sides.
