Image Dating Comments

This slide has a punch-stamped date of June 1961. The snowpack is consistent with a melting spring snowpack, but may have been captured before June.

Comments & Discussion

Vehicles could frequently be seen in the background of photos captured here during this era. There were picnic tables and plenty of room for parking. The Dumont Lake Campground and Rabbit Ears Pass Trailhead are still found in this area now.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The punch stamp for the date is fading but still legible. The number 7 is ink-stamped onto the cardboard and indentation is also fading. The mount is a pure white that shows no discoloration or signs of aging aside from the fading inks. There are 4 good corners.
