Comments & Discussion

This is the largest Continental Divide marker in Colorado. A road sign marking the summit of the pass can also be found here several yards away to the east.

A large number of dead trees can be seen in the background, a result of mountain pine beetles. These beetles are native to the area, and beetle kill outbreaks like this go through natural fluctuations.

There are 3 large information signs here. The first recounts the history of the pass. A second wooden sign discusses the water flow of the Continental Divide, while the third sign discusses the Continental Divide Trail.
