Comments & Discussion

The City of Colorado Springs took over operation of the toll road in 1947, and still manages the highway today under a special use permit from the US Forest Service. The city’s name can be seen along the top of the tickets. The lower text on both tickets reads “The toll is for maintenance and improvements to the highway so that you may enjoy your trip to the top of the most famous mountain in the world.”

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: Both of these tickets have noticeable condition issues on the front sides. The backsides both have obvious remnants from the wedding album they were once fixed to.
