This ticket is a similar color to other tickets that were used in 1923 and 1928, but a reader has written in mentioning that they have one just like this that has a date stamp of 1921 on the back (#A14119).
F.E. Mathews, whose name is on the bottom-right of the ticket, was traffic manager here until at least 1936, so it’s possible that this one could have been from another year still.
Comments & Discussion
This ticket is differentiated from many of the others in the archive by the stamp on the back. Upon arrival into the archives, this is the only Pikes Peak ticket with a stamp that reads ‘Summit of Pikes Peak’, and the only one with a date stamp on the back that does not have a year.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is only very slight fading of the red ink on the front. The rest of the frontside ink shows little/no fading. There is one crease on the right side that is very minor, but notable.
