Breckenridge Transportation
Getting to Breckenridge will likely require going over a mountain pass regardless of which way you choose to get here. The main route here shoots through the Continental Divide from Denver, and this includes going through the Eisenhower Tunnel. The Eagle County Airport is even closer than DIA, but this route will require going over Vail Pass in order to get here.
Coming into Summit County from the north or south? In that case, you’ll have to contend with Rabbit Ears Pass if you are coming from Steamboat Springs, or Hoosier Pass if you are coming from Leadville to the south.

Breckenridge Station – This is a central transportation point, located at the bottom of the BreckConnect gondola. You’ll find this in between the north and south gondola parking lots.
Breckenridge Transportation FAQ
You have two main options for your trip to Breck – the Eagle County Airport is the closest (72 miles), but is small and has a limited number of flights. Denver is the most popular option and this is just over 100 miles.
Not required. It is easy to walk between most Breck hotels, the town, and mountain. There are many free shuttles provided by the hotels here, plus a free in-town Breck bus. The Summit Stage also offers free rides to neighboring towns and ski resorts.
The average drive time is just over 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Keep in mind that weather and road closures can always affect drive times to ski resorts.

Summit County Stage
Summit County offers a free shuttle bus option, the Summit Stage. routes run regularly throughout the county, transporting skiers between mountains and between the main neighborhoods.
The bus runs year-round. Ski gear is allowed in the bus during the winter. The buses have bike racks during the summer, but capacity is limited to 3 bikes per bus. Find more info on the official website here.
