Crested Butte Transportation
Crested Butte is located in the center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, to the southwest of Aspen. The ski resort is approximately 30 miles from the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport, and the drive from the airport takes about 40 minutes.
There is a free town shuttle bus that goes between the town of Crested Butte and the ski resort every 15 minutes during the winter season.

No, Cottonwood Pass is closed during the winter months. You can take Monarch Pass instead, which is farther to the south.

Directions from Gunnison
Take CO Hwy 135 north from downtown Gunnison. This brings you directly into Crested Butte. Continue through town on 6th Street as it turns into Gothic Road in order to get to the ski resort.

Free Mountain Express Bus Service
The ride from town to the Crested Butte Mountain Resort takes just over 5 minutes. The routes will vary depending on the season. During the winter season, there are 3 bus routes that will stop at most of the main neighborhoods and the town of crested Butte in order to provide easy access to the mountain. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes during the ski season.
During the summer, there will be fewer routes available and buses will run approximately every 30 minutes.
