Comments & Discussion
Notice the TWO spare tires on the back of this car, and wooden boards that were likely brought along to help cross small ditches or rough terrain. The vehicle is likely a Willys Overland Model 90 from 1917 or 1918.
That’s the US Forest Service logo in the middle of the sign. This was the same sign design that was seen on Tennessee Pass in this photo, as well as on other mountain passes during the era. The altitude appears to read 11,400′.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is noticeable damage in the areas near at least one of the corners, but the front surface has a nice even matte surface that is almost entirely free of any cracks or damage. There is slight discoloration on the backside near some of the edges, but this is mild and it is considered especially mild with consideration to the age of the photograph upon arrival into the archives.
